|  The agricultural plant owes its name to the area "L'Aja", situated just outside the walls of the historic town of Radda in Chianti, a name found on very old maps. As "foreigners" ("outsiders"), in 1980, we bought the agricultural property and began a passionate, slow and steady labour with the wish to develop the modest agricultural structures we had taken over.
From the initial 12 hectares we have now 24 hectares, the greater part of which have been transformed into vineyards and olive plantations. One part of the land has been used for the cultivation of special grapes, and the other for the cultivation of olives. The quality of the wine grapes has been greatly improved, in compliance with the regulations of the "Consorzio del Chianti Classico".
The equipment for wine growing and wine production has been replaced, enlarged and modernized, but at the same time we have tried to respect and adhere to the most valuable local agricultural traditions. The entire delicate process of wine production the cultivation, picking, production and bottling is carried out here on the grounds, in order to ensure and preserve the genuine quality of our product.
This applies also to the production of our olive oil. Our plant has a limited production, with the aim of obtaining and guaranteeing a superior quality year. Nature has proved a great assistance in this challenge.
The lie of the land and the microclimate here has raised the value of the grape types cultivated, but above all, they have a favorable influance on our infinite passion and on the precious care of those who, day after day, cultivate the soil of our farm "L'Aja", guided by ancient knowledge and great love. | | ||

|  Radda in Chianti is near the ancient road "Chiantigiana" (ss 222) that unites Siena to Florence passing through Castellina in Chianti and Greve. Radda is easy to reach both from Siena or Florence: going along the freeway "Firenze-Siena" you have to take the exit for "San Donato" and continue towards Castellina and then Radda. | | ||
